School for 850 places

Project type

Calculation scheme and drawings

Location

Moscow

This school is located on a site with complex geology, in which the formation of karst sinkholes is possible. The project provides for a complex foundation consisting of a foundation slab, tie-down walls and a floor slab above the basement.
The basement walls participated in providing spatial rigidity and redistributing forces in building structures during the formation of a karst sinkhole.

A special feature of the school is the presence of spaces in the form of sports and assembly halls, which are covered with metal roof trusses. These metal trusses were
designed in such a way as to exclude their influence on the overall stability of the building in the presence of complex engineering geological conditions.

An additional complexity that had to be resolved at this site was the design of reinforced concrete columns with reinforcement with a diameter of 32 mm, with the dimensions of a square section column with a side of 500 mm.

The challenge was to leave enough space for the concrete and thus ensure that the concrete and reinforcement worked
together.
